La Cod au Folles

^----(click to see the whole album)

Hullo, we're back from the wilds, completely wrung out and exhausted from the fam-a-thon. At the last minute Hyena and I were put up at a friend's house in Truro: a truly amazing Italian-style villa overlooking Pilgrim Lake and Provincetown harbor. Very un-Capey, but who's complaining? They were out of town, so we had the whole place to ourselves. The absolute high point of the weekend was a visit from Corny, Mrs. Cub, Dubz, and Mr. Dubz on Saturday night for drinx. Afterwards we went out for some chow at the local clam-shaq and took a walk around crazycrazy Ptown. Dubz re-discovered her "friend" the monument, and we descended on the army-navy store for a try-on extravaganza. It was big fun, but truth be told, certain persons were missed...

Awww, so cute! I like the flip-flop modeling. Corns, why is it you can assume any role with such ease? You in full uniform is intense. You may need to paint a self-portrait as such.

I'm partial to Dubz's Nina Hagan look with the red plether jacket. Also Sloth you look shockingly right in that hat. Why did we not buy it for you to wear to the Verkplatz?

Peeds, I can assume the roles with ease because i am a consummate thesbian my friend.

Sloths there was a pic of Dubz with the backwards helmut that was delightfully retarded...

I'm on it.

Could this be the inspiration for Corny's full regalia?

Thanks to Corny, Vic, Dubz and Scott for "being yourselves" and trekkin' up to the fleshpots of Ptown. Cocktails by the ha ha were the highpoint of the weekend!

Cheers

shoot, we missed our opportunity to add a live DaDa sculpture to the collection of weird stuffs hanging from the Marine Specialties ceiling! It would have been fun for Corny, too, she could pelt tourists with marbles and shells and rubber duckies. f*ck, I wasn't thinking.

Slothy, don't be so hard on yourself. There will be other opportunities. I think we need a DADA sculpture in Times Square, doing the much-needed pelting of choads.

I think "The true face of Our Age" as that sculpture was thought of would be an excellent balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade

Aye aye, sirs!
I just checked in with the kitty cam and they are taking a nap on the couch. It was weirdly compelling, and I wanted to wake them up so bad.

hey, nice pics!! that last one of corny in the mask is really speaking to me. god, i have visited that army/navy store probably 30 times. every time i wonder 1)why it exists 2)who buys stuff there 3)how it is still in business. anyway...

i'm going to check on the kitties now.

fb, slothy werked there. yes indeedy-doo! so she might have some insight as to why it exists.

i can't believe no one's asked me why the monument is my friend. can you say, giant butt plug?

I think we all just assumed as much, Dubzy.

Little Known Fact: Provincetown's Pilgrim Monument is an homage to the Pilgrims' first trade with the Indians, wherein they swapped a double-ended dildo for the whole of Cape Cod.

I'm not sure if agree with your tacit approval of the military industrial complex.

okay, my eyes were wellin' up with tears, that looked like so much fun. I must agree with corny on the Nina Hagen dubz look.

You should get that outfit for work dubz.

I will march behind you to the donut shoppe.

FB, Marine Specialties stays afloat by investing in truckloads of dirt-cheap crap like freeze-dried blowfish and irregular clothing, which they then sell to tourists at a huge markup, meanwhile under-paying their employees. You will also find lots of musty military stuff like c-rations from the Korean War, bayonet practice dummies (useful!), spools of uniform braiding, gas masks, etc. etc. And knives. Lots and lots of knives. And of course hats.

I kinda likey the strangeness of it, despite the fact that it always leaves me feeling a little uneasy and slightly dissatisfied. At least it isn't another annoying new age shop or ptown tshirt shop, etc.

awww sloths. that's sweet.

so I momentarily confused Nina Hagen with both Lena New Toy Lovich and the Nena chick that sang 99 Luftballons.

then I really remembered Nina nunsexmonkrock Hagen. I am brain dead.
