nourishments

Sloth has baked a cake in celebration of spring! It is the Hedgehog of Spring. It is made from chocolate-rum cake with chocolate icing and chocolate wafers, and m&m's for facial features. Sloth enjoys the brown stuff occasionally (meaning chocolate). What else can you say about this cake? It is a little messy, but Sloth has only 3 fingers on each paw, and hobo-snaggle-toes. So it isn't bad, considering.

Mountain Man is away, which makes Sloth melancholy, but also makes some time to prepare a little surprise. Sloth is writing a song for MM & co., and working up an act which includes a clomp-dance and ends with some tumbling. Sloth has never done this before, so practice is challenging, but a viewing of Napoleon Dynamite demonstrates that it can surely be accomplished.

Sloth intended to give the nourishments to MM when he returns, but it may not last that long. The limpid blue eyes are begging to be chomped. It's almost unbearable.

Excuse me, but are you going to share the recipe for this concoction with us? Chocolate & rum sounds deee-lish.

There are many woodland mammals deserving of this luscious regard. Perhaps if the hedgehog cannot endure til the Man's return, a vanilla muskrat or mocha weasel will seduce the fair Mountain back into the fold.

Hi Betty,
Here is the cake recipe:

It's best if dunked into a big glass of rum.

Thank you, fair gwendoline. Perhaps mocha weasel cake would help snap Sloth out of the current torpor. The rum hedgehog is only making things fuzzier...

Sloth, this cake looks so yummilicious to me. Why is that? I sense it may have a gooey center, which is most appetizing to my sensibilities.

pd, you are correct! the center of the Hedgehog is gooey and dark, as with many of us. When the MM comes back, all are urged to partake in a wanton bacchanalia - a savage, unfettered free-for-all of goo-lust.

I will wait then, for the feast of the hedgehog. Maybe if Mountain Man knows about this cake--he will return post haste.

I am back and ready for cake-tasting!!!! I hope there is some fur or an eyeball left for me to soothingly munch. Thank you Sloth with ever so much kindness and gratitude for your efforts. If you are planning a tumbling routine, may I suggest you buy a family pak of ace bandages in case you donate welts and sprains to yourself in your enthusiasms. I, in return, will consider a performance for you. Do not expect much grace, however, as my limbs are far to long to control.

Oh joy - and welcome back Mountain Man! You were sorely missed. Sloth hopes the time away was bearing of the ripe and bursting fruit, and that you're ready to party!

MM, your limbs go all the way to the ground, like tall furry trees. Sloth is working on death-defying jumping-jacks for the tumblethon.
