The PBS Gallery of Thrift Store Art is the most brilliant wonderful website I have come across in ages. I am aghast.

Yes, FB. How is it that thrift-store art is so much better and more interesting than 90% of what you see in Chelsea Forest? (Present company excluded, of course!)

I agree agree agree. I love the crazy decisions in these paintings. There are so many good ones it's kind of freaking me out.

I love the "Horrific Clown" painting in Gallery XII. It so totally cracks me up.

Sloth, the Big Eyed Art is killing me. I grew up with two pictures of tiny harlequin ballerina kids with big eyes in my room until I was five. So scary, yet comforting. Thank you sloth.

The big eyes speak volumes. Volumes.

The big eyed art makes me think of Rita Ackerman. Krix, I believe I had a big eyed tiger in my room when I was a kid. Could've been at my grandma's maybe, but it is very very familiar.

The PSB Site is the most amazing thing ever, oh my god. I could stay there for days!!! How did you find!

Poking around on the web-doodle, MM. There was a link list that I narrowed down, truth be told. Sloth is so psyched to get a posting from Corny! Sloth is a big fan.

Duly noted about Catland, anonymous. Noted and added to the list, in fact! Loved, loved, loved the "Cats Playing Poker" image.

In the PSB site, please check out "Peepshow Nightmare" in Gallery VII. Truly inspired.

I will check out, Slothy. Yes you are charmed to get Corny on your site. I love her blog and her relics. She is fine.

Maybe magnifier glasses would make Sloth more lovable like the big-eyed creatures.

At 10:20 PM, Blogger Mountain Man said...

No. Sloth does not need such faux enhancements. Sloth just needs a good shiny glossy conditioner for fur once in a while, that is all. Maybe some glisten sparkle in the eyes of happy-sadness. That is all. Otherwise Sloth is perfect.

I am glassy and in need of the sparkles. I went to Pearl Paint and looked at the glitter, but they wouldn't tell me what kind of glue to use. Maybe Krazy Glue? Bonds in seconds, so they say.

Sloth! You really out-did yourself this time. I loved the PBS Gallery too, and the Big-Eyed art! I will be looking at these sites for many many days.

i will donate my great-step-grandmother's paintings to the museum of bad art under the genre "at least she tried". i think many people will not buy it.

Sloth, I must jump on the bandwagon and give the kudos for the PSB site. It is not unlike quicksand. I was sucked in for hours.

At 12:22 PM, Blogger sloth said...

PD, were you at the Arena of Pain this morning? Sloth saw someone who looked hauntingy like you, with a zig-zag. Was it you?

At 12:25 PM, Blogger sloth said...

Monster Spank, many of us labor in the same category as your great-step-grandmother. And many people still do not buy it. But a few do, a few wonderful, wonderful people do.

At 12:25 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes Sloth--you found me out. It is all due to the zig-zag--I swear. It has corrupted me so.

At 12:28 PM, Blogger sloth said...

Krix, the PSB site is really quite special. It is full of the eye-fun.

FB, the artist of the cats is the case of a man who started out drawing and painting nice happy pictures of kitties, then he went insane and made more and more fucked-up kitty pictures. They do not show the most wacked-out ones on that site, but the cat with eye-flowers is a gem.

At 1:18 PM, Blogger sloth said...

AHA! I knew it! Next time you will be pestered, PD.

Anonymous is thrilled as a bucket of buckets to introduce the log peeps to Catland, sometimes called Pussydom. I'm all dolled up like Christ now.

At 11:31 PM, Blogger sloth said...

Oh Anonymous Christ, thank you for Pussydom. Sloth imagines you as a Jesus with long black hair, a kind of a lovely goth Jesus with big eyes and Helmut Lang sandals. Is this an accurate imagining?
